Parking will be available behind Silver Beach Resort on the beach of Rimrock Lake. Please DO NOT park in front of the motel. No parking will be permitted at the start of the race. Parking is also available at Trout Lodge, near the end of the Full Marathon. Parking is limited so carpooling is encouraged.
Transportation will be provided to the beginning of the race. The first shuttle will leave from Trout Lodge at 7:15 a.m. Two shuttles will leave from Silver Beach at 8:00 a.m. and a final shuttle will leave from Silver Beach at 8:30 a.m. The race starts at 9:00 a.m.
There will be 8 aid stations this year along the race course. The first aid station will be located at mile 5.75, which is the turnoff from Highway 12 toward Clear Lake onto Tieton Reservoir Road. The remaining aid stations will be located at miles 9, 11, 13, 16, 19, 22, and 24. Each station will have water, Gatorade and basic first aid supplies. Aid stations at miles 11, 13, 16 and 19 will also have Gu. Salt tabs and icy hot patches will be available at some stations. Both finish areas will have additional food and drink. There will also be an on-sight EMT available for minor injuries. Porta-potties will be located at the start of the race, at the end of the ½ marathon by Silver Beach Resort, and near the tunnel.
Spectators are welcome at mile 5.75 at the turn off of Highway 12 around Clear Lake, at the half marathon finish, and at the marathon finish. Runners that have contact with spectators at any other point in the race may be disqualified. Course marshals will be noting splits at various aid stations.
The course is open to traffic with Yakima County Sheriff flaggers at the start of the race and at the Rimrock tunnel, although Saturday morning eastbound traffic is fairly light. Everyone must run on the eastbound shoulder (south side) of Highway 12. The eastbound lane does not always have a wide shoulder and would require you to cross the highway. Safety is paramount, so be sure to wear bright clothing. Race shirts are bright orange to notify both drivers and hunters to watch for runners on the road. As race day approaches, be sure to monitor the traffic cam at White Pass.
Race Cutoff Times
Because this is a point-to-point race that is open to traffic, the half marathon cutoff time is 3:00:00 and the full marathon cutoff time is 5:00:00 or your Boston Marathon Qualifying time, whichever is greater. There is no early start.
